This Privacy Policy explains how Energesis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (“Energesis,” “we,” “us” or “our”) collects, uses and shares information when you visit energesispharma.com (the “Site”) or contact us through it. By using the Site, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you use our contact form or email us, we collect what you choose to send. The contact form asks for your name, email address, organization, the type of inquiry (partnership, media or general) and your message.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our web server and hosting provider record standard technical information when you visit. This can include your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed and the date and time of your visit.
Please do not send health information. The Site is not a patient program and does not enroll anyone in clinical studies. Please do not send us personal medical information through the Site or by email.
2. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- respond to your inquiry and communicate with you about it;
- operate, maintain, secure and improve the Site;
- understand how the Site is used, in aggregate;
- detect and prevent spam, fraud and misuse; and
- comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.
We do not use contact-form information to send marketing emails unless you ask us to.
3. Cookies and third-party services
The Site runs on WordPress. WordPress and our hosting provider may set small files called cookies that are needed for the Site to work and stay secure. The Site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser sends your IP address to Google when a page loads. Google’s use of that information is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
You can set your browser to refuse or delete cookies. Some parts of the Site may not work properly if you do.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only:
- with service providers that host the Site, deliver email or provide similar services for us, under obligations to protect it;
- with our professional advisers, such as lawyers and accountants, where needed;
- if required by law, legal process or a government request, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Energesis, our users or others;
- in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this Policy; and
- with your consent.
5. Our crowdfunding campaign and other websites
The Site links to our campaign page on BioTech Funding Portal, a registered funding portal, and to other websites such as LinkedIn and scientific journals. Energesis does not accept investments or collect investment, payment or identity-verification information through the Site. Any information you provide to BioTech Funding Portal is collected by the portal and governed by its own privacy policy and terms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other websites, and we encourage you to read their policies.
6. How long we keep information
We keep contact-form submissions and emails for as long as needed to respond and follow up, and then as long as reasonably needed for our records, legal obligations and dispute resolution. Technical logs are kept for a limited time set by our hosting provider.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical measures to protect information. No website or transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your choices and rights
You may ask us to access, correct or delete personal information you have sent us by emailing info@energesispharma.com. We will respond as required by applicable law. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws, and you may use an authorized agent to make a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
9. Children
The Site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Visitors outside the United States
The Site is operated in the United States. If you visit from another country, your information will be processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the effective date above. Your continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated Policy.
